Work in Progress Wednesday 23rd Oct

Last week I showed you my Mirrored Fair Isle sock. Unfortunately, even though I was being careful to not pull the back loops too tight, they are, so the sock doesn’t fit. So that’s now in hibernation too.

Seeing as I’m failing with socks so much lately, I thought I’d knit a shawl, out of my lovely Exmoor Sock Yarn. So I did, and I finished it in three days. It’s Annis from Knitty. Annoyingly, even after blocking the top still curls.Annis Shawl

Now, I’m knitting Thermal from Knitty (with the Zettl Vallbella I bought from a Ravelry stash ages ago), as I still don’t feel like socks. I will be knitting socks for a friend for her birthday, but right now socks and I aren’t friends, so she’ll have to have it a bit late (her birthday was Monday). It’s not grown much, but that’s because after about 10 rounds of 1×1 twisted rib, I realised I’d twisted it when I joined in the round, so I had to do it again.Thermal

I’ve just noticed that by pure coincidence, this week seems to be a green week. I’ve also noticed I’ve only really done knitting updates on here. One day I’ll have a non-knitted WIP to show you!

Oh noes, so sorry to hear about the sock! I have that issue with fair isle, too. I think I finally went up to size 3 DPNs in order to get a colorwork sock I could pull on over my heel – that’s just insanity! Your shawl looks lovely, though, and I look forward to seeing your progress on Thermal!
